First Order

If I would collect one dollar for every time I’ve heard ‘Don’t do it. It won’t work. You should quit while you can…’. Today, I would be rich.

Tall poppy syndrome – people want to keep you down, integrated to the tapestry of passivity and average.

Well, f*** average.

And also, long live ‘humble’!

As in, balance is key. Keep pushing forward, but keep it humble (don’t let your ego get in the way – sometimes you may make mistakes. You don’t know everything – sometimes things can be done better).

If someone makes a good point – listen.

If there is a better way to do something – allow it.

Some classes it has been me… with myself.

It has been hard to get students. Sometimes people come… and never come back.

And you have to suck it up. And keep trying. And keep giving your best to the other ones. The ones that do show up. The students that believe in you. That come to class because they know that you can make it – you can deliver an awesome class.

And focus and commit, like it is always my goal at the gym, ‘To make you walk a better person when you leave that door than when you entered it‘.

And then, sometimes, you taste the honey – some classes you have 5 students. Or even more!

But then some days it goes back to nothing…

What can you do?

Keep trying. Keep drilling.

And just like those jabs, it will keep getting better. Keep practising. Keep improving your form.

And maybe one day, perhaps only one day, you will achieve a humble but meaningful milestone:
